We DO NOT do this! There are many reasons why this can hurt your website. One reason is it can pose a security threat to your website.
Why This is a Security Issue:
Often agencies and freelancers who off-shore the work have never physically met the person (or people) working for them. Nor have they been vetted. No one is looking over their shoulder while they work, yet they are given ADMIN-level login access to your website. These logins are sensitive and private, and if they fall into the wrong hands, they can destroy your website; allow a hacker to hack your site; install a virus; hijack your website, and do many, many other nasty things.

Side note: To find out if your current website agency (or freelancer) off-shores the work, ask them to their face: “Do you do all website work here in Australia, or do you have workers working for you off-shore”. It’s the easiest way to find out. Plus, if they lie, it’s often easy to tell.
