Most people are time poor and want to find good information FAST when they are using Google or visiting your website. If they can’t find the information quickly, they may give up and go to some other website. This of course would be bad because any opportunity you may have had for them to do business with you, is now gone! I am sure you would not want this to occur.
By using the AIDA Rule on your website (on each page), you are helping website visitors evaluate your business quickly. You are also helping them:
- Form a positive impression quickly
- Find your website appealing
- Decide that your business is the business they want to work with
- Find the specific information they are looking for quickly
- Save time!
- Stay on your website for longer, so you reduce the chances of them leaving your website without performing an ACTION.
To make your website (and its webpages) ‘scan-readable’ and therefore quick to read, break your text up into short sections, use images (and/or videos), icons, etc, keep paragraphs short and use bullet-points in your text (where appropriate to do so).
Side note: Another important thing to note is that over 50% of ALL website visitors in Australia are viewing websites on their mobile phones. I’m sure you are aware that your website must be easy to read and interact with on mobile phones, not just tablets, laptops and desktop computers.
